Day 1

Arrival in Florence. Check-in at hotel 3* situated in the city centre.

Breakfast at the hotel.

In the morning meet the guide for a town-discovery walk through the enchanting streets and squares of the historical center. Visit the church of  Santa Maria Novella, the Duomo square dominated by the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto’s Bell tower and the Baptistery, with its Renaissance golden “Gate of Paradise” . See Dante’s house and Piazza della Signoria, a splendid "open-air sculpture museum" with Palazzo Vecchio, the city hall,  controlled by the majestic statue of David by Michelangelo. Passing by the Corridoio Vasariano, reach Ponte Vecchio, the "Jewellers' Bridge", one of the symbols of Florence. The tour ends in the heart of the Medieval town by the lively Market of the straw where your guide will give you precious hints for self discovery of the town.

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning optional half day tour of  Uffizi Gallery and Medici Tombs in San Lorenzo church, among the other wonderful masterpieces, you will be able to admire the works of art by Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Raffaello, Giotto, Cimabue, Masaccio and the tombs of the Medici family made by Michelangelo.
Afternoon half day excursion to Pisa A splendid excursion through the Tuscan countryside towards the historic university city of Pisa, guided visit of Piazza dei Miracoli to find the celebrated Leaning Tower, the Cathedral (visit inside), an unequalled masterpiece of Romanesque art, the Baptistery and other important monuments. See Piazza dei Cavalieri, where the Scuola Normale resides, one of the most famous universities in the world.
