Excursion by bus to Siena and San Gimignano from Florence - full day


An extremely interesting excursion through the countryside of the Chianti area among delightful hills, with an ever-changing scenery of vineyards and olive trees. A visit to San Gimignano (free), a tiny city that has remained intact through the centuries; the city is situated on top of a hill and is famous for its numerous towers, frescoes and other art treasures. On arrival in Siena, free time for lunch (not included). Then follows a guided visit of this magnificent mediaeval city. It is possible to admire interior of the Cathedral, with the Piccolomini Library, the Opera Metropolitana Museum. The tour proceed to Piazza del Campo, one of the most beautiful squares in Europe, the Town Hall (outside). During the return journey, along the way it is possible to admire the old mediaeval village of Monteriggioni enclosed by its famous walls, still intact
