Rome is one of the cities most often captured on films; it is an immense, monumental set used and often reconstructed in the studios of Cinecittà - by great Italian and international directors: Rossellini, De Sica, Pasolini, Fellini, Manckiewicz, Wyler, Greenaway... This has contributed to the creation of an imagery of the Eternal City that does not necessarily correspond to the existing Rome and that, nevertheless, appears even more tangible and indelible. For example, just thinking about the city of Rome in cinema, it is impossible not to recall the image of Anita Ekberg who bathes with Marcello Mastroianni in the "pagan" waters of the Trevi Fountain in "La Dolce Vita". Or, the cheery and romantic Rome of “Roman Holiday", one of the most famous movies of all time, where the city itself is a real character. “Roman Holiday" has the merit of showing a charming and fashionable Rome, making it famous all around the world. A lot of this magic is also due to the great actors, main characters, together with the city, of movies that will remain forever in the history of the cinema.
