Timeline

1st Day – ROME

At time indicated arrival in Rome, you will meet Argiletum Tour coordinator and your private driver for a transfer to the hotel in Rome selected for your group. The coordinator will help you with the check-in procedure at the hotel. Guests will receive a city map and information on the activities available during your stay. In accordance with your arrival in Rome, the group will have time at disposal to attend religious services, celebrate mass with your pastor or join a guided tour of St. John Lateran and the Holy Stairs. St. Peter’s Basilica

2nd Day – ROME / ASSISI – A Franciscan experience!

Breakfast at the Hotel. In the morning meet our assistant and driver at the hotel to start your journey through the green hills of beautiful Umbria region, medieval hilltop towns, Todi, Deruta, Trevi, Spoleto, with its 2 Worlds festival, and the many villages of Italy’s greenest region. Everywhere one feels St Francis mysticism. Arriving in Assisi meet the guide and visit the impressive St Francis basilica. Giotto and Simone Martini’s incredibly beautiful frescoes with St Francis stories introduce visitors to the saint’s humble tomb, in the basilica’s crypt. At St Claire and Porziuncola visitors retrace Francis of Assisi’s path to holiness. Free time for lunch and continuing the visit on your own. Return to Rome approx 7:00 pm. Dinner and Overnight at the Hotel

3rd Day – ROME

Breakfast at the Hotel. In the morning visit the Vatican. A fascinating itinerary to the discovery of art, history and religion of the smallest state in the world. Visit of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica and the Tombs of the Popes in St. Peter Basilica. Free time for lunch (not included) In the afternoon we will complete the visit with the most significant religious places in Rome: the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, St Peter’s in Chain and the Catacombs along the Appian way. Dinner and Overnight at the Hotel

Optional Itinerary Pilgrimage Tour from Rome

Roma, Pietrelcina, San Giovanni Rotondo

Day 1 ROMA – PIETRELCINA – SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO

At the time indicated departure by bus to Pietrelcina, Father Pio’s birthplace. The most visited pilgrimage centre in Europe. Visit to Father Pio’s birth house and to his Parrish. Time for Lunch. Transfer to San Giovanni Rotondo in the afternoon. Accommodation at hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO – EXCURSION TO MONTE SANT’ANGELO

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Monte Sant’Angelo, from where there is a great view on the Adriatic sea and the Gargano coast line; visit to San Michele Arcangelo Sanctuary and to the Cave and time to visit the medieval village. In the afternoon we will continue the visit with Padre Pio’s places: Sanctuary of Saint Mary of the Grace, Cript with Father Pio’s grave, Father Pio’s cell. Possibility to reserve a Mass in the cript.

Day 3 SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO – LANCIANO – ROMA

After breakfast, departure to Departure to Lanciano, where you will have the chance to visit the Sanctuary of the Eucharistic Miracle.
