Pilgrimage to Rome
Day 1 – Rome
Arrival and first contact with the Eternal City
The group arrives at the Airport where you will be welcomed by our assistant after immigration clearance, and transfer to hotel. Guests will receive a list of events in Rome, a city map, and information about optional activities available during your stay.
Depending on your arrival time and available time, you may attend religious services, celebrate Mass, or take a guided tour of the Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano and the Holy Staircase (Scala Santa).
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 – Rome to Assisi
Following in the footsteps of Saint Francis
Breakfast at the hotel. At 7:30 AM, meeting with our assistant and driver at the hotel for departure to Assisi, heading north through the green hills of the beautiful Umbrian region with its medieval towns: Todi, Deruta, Trevi… Everywhere you feel the mysticism of Saint Francis.
Visit to the mystical city of Saint Francis, still surrounded by its ancient walls, at the foot of Mount Subasio. An unforgettable walk through the narrow streets of the historic center.
With our guide, you will visit the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli to see the small chapel of the “Porziuncola” where Saint Francis died in 1226, the Church of Santa Chiara, and the house where he spent his early years. We will reach the heart of the city, Piazza del Comune, with its Roman and medieval buildings, and conclude at the Basilica of San Francesco, which holds the tomb of the saint. The interior is decorated with splendid frescoes from the 13th and 14th centuries, with masterpieces by Giotto and Cimabue.
Free time for lunch and to continue exploring the city on your own. Return to Rome at 7:00 PM.

Day 3 – Rome and Vatican City
The spiritual and artistic treasures of the Vatican
Breakfast at the hotel. At 7:30 AM, meeting with our assistant and driver at the hotel for an optional visit to the Vatican Museums with reserved entrance, no queues.
Visit to Vatican City to discover the art, history, and religion of the world’s smallest country: the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and the Basilica of Saint Peter.
Depending on the dates of your pilgrimage, you may attend the General Audience of the Pope (held every Wednesday morning at 9:00 AM in St. Peter’s Square or in the Paul VI Hall) or the Apostolic Blessing of the Angelus on Sunday (every Sunday at noon in St. Peter’s Square, when the Holy Father appears at the window of his apartment to give his blessing to the faithful).
Free lunch. Afternoon at your disposal to complete your visit with the most significant religious places in Rome: the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls, and the Catacombs along the Appian Way, or visit one of Rome’s iconic sites such as the Colosseum.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 – Rome
Departure
Breakfast at the hotel. At the time you specify, transfer to the airport.
Evening arrival in Rome. End of our services.
Optional Pilgrimage Itinerary from Rome: Lanciano, San Giovanni Rotondo, and Monte Sant’Angelo
3 days from Rome
Day 1 – ROME – LANCIANO – SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO
Following the Eucharistic Miracle and Saint Pio
At the agreed time, departure by coach from Rome to Lanciano (approximately 230 km), where you will have the opportunity to visit the Sanctuary of the Eucharistic Miracle, one of the oldest and best-documented eucharistic miracles of the Catholic Church.
The visit includes the Church of San Francesco, which houses the sacred relics of the miracle that occurred in the 8th century: the host transformed into flesh and the wine into blood. You will also visit the crypt of San Legonziano, the original place where the miracle occurred, and the museum with explanatory panels and scientific evidence of the miracle.
Time for lunch. In the afternoon, continue to San Giovanni Rotondo (approximately 150 km), the most visited pilgrimage center in Europe dedicated to Saint Pio.

Day 2 – SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO – EXCURSION TO MONTE SANT’ANGELO
The places of Saint Pio and the Sanctuary of Saint Michael the Archangel
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning dedicated to visiting the places of Saint Pio in San Giovanni Rotondo:
• Sanctuary of Santa Maria delle Grazie, where Saint Pio lived for over 50 years
• Crypt with the tomb of Saint Pio
• Cell of Saint Pio, preserved as it was in his time
• Church of San Pio da Pietrelcina, a magnificent modern work designed by Renzo Piano
Possibility to attend celebrations and book a Holy Mass in the crypt.
Time for lunch.
In the afternoon, departure to Monte Sant’Angelo (approximately 30 km), an ancient village located at 800 meters altitude on the Gargano promontory.
Visit to the Sanctuary of Saint Michael the Archangel, UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important places of worship in Western Christendom. The sanctuary is known as the “Heavenly Basilica” and houses the Sacred Cave, where according to tradition Saint Michael the Archangel appeared.
Inside the cave, you will admire the marble statue of Saint Michael defeating Satan, carved from Carrara marble. Free time to visit the charming medieval village with its characteristic narrow alleyways.
Return to San Giovanni Rotondo. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 – SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO – ROME
Return to Rome
After breakfast, you may still enjoy free time to visit other places of spiritual interest in San Giovanni Rotondo or attend the morning celebrations.
During the morning or early afternoon, departure for the return to Rome (approximately 380 km).
Evening arrival in Rome. End of our services.
