Pilgrimage from Rome to Padre Pio

1st Day – ROME – SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO 

At time indicate meet the the driver at the hotel to start your trip to San Giovanni Rotondo. First stop is in Lanciano. After aprox. 2 hours arrival at Lanciano.

The driver takes you to the church of St. Francis where you will find the “Eucharistic Miracle”, Original Flesh and Blood of Jesus Christ closed in tabernacle. After free time for the visit and for lunch (we can suggest you where to eat) continue your trip to San Giovanni Rotondo, where you will arrive in the afternoon after a stop at Monte Sant’Angelo, from where you can enjoy yourself of a wonderful view of Gargano coast and visit of San Michele Sanctuary and the Grotto. Check in at the hotel and time for dinner at the hotel (included). Overnight stay

Day 2 SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast to explor this fascinating city. From July 28, 1916 until his death on September 23, 1968, Padre Pio, famous for his stigmata, called San Giovanni Rotondo his home. The miracle of his stigmata was recognized by the Pope after the approval of the three commissions canonically required. The Medical Consultations of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints examined the case, and with a unanimous vote judged it “scientifically inexplicable.” On June 16, 2002 John Paul II declared Padre Pio a Saint of the Catholic Church.
In the afternoon departure to Foggia to catch the train to Rome. Ariving in Rome meet the driver for your transfer to the hotel. End of the tour at your hotel. Arrivederci!
