Private tour visiting the excavations of Pompeii, home of the world’s most famous volcanic disaster when Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 A.D. It provides now an amazing glimpse into the daily life of an average Roman town over two thousand years ago.

Visit of the ancient city of Pompeii
You will meet your driver at your hotel in Rome at time indicated. After aprox. 2 hours’ drive along the High way of the Sun, you will reach the fertile valley of Mount Vesuvius, passing the villages of Ercolano, Torre del Greco, you will continue then to Pompeii where you will meet your guide. After 1700 years the excavations have brought to light Pompeii, a town whose daily life of the Imperial Age has been crystallized, as under a spell, in its gestures, secrets, in the panic felt by its inhabitants during the last moments. A journey to discover the ancient Roman town buried by the ashes after eruption of Vesuvio in 79B.C. A unique experience to learn the art, history and habits of Ancient Roman civilizations.

Visit a Winery on Mount Vesuvius
At the end of the visit you will reach a winery on the Mount Vesuvius to taste the wine of Vesuvius obtained from secular vines, planted already from the V sec. B.C. by the Greeks. An unforgettable experience to go to the origin of wine production and to know the legends that surround the most famous wine of the area: the Lacryme Christi! The wine tasting will be accompanied by local products and main dish, to relax and enjoy the wonderful view of the vineyards at the foot of Vesuvius.

Visit of Vesuvious* National Park
After lunch you will continue the tour with the driver to reach the little town of Torre del Greco, from where you will reach the Vesuvious* National Park for a walk around the crater at 1200 meters. We recommend appropriate clothing to walk a mountain path that exceeds 1000 meters, as well as sunglasses, binoculars, camera. At the end of the visit return to Rome. Approximate arrival time around 7.00 pm and return to your Hotel.
