Visit Florence on an Ape Calessino, departing by train from Rome
We will start the day by picking you up from your hotel in Rome to take you to the Termini station, where we’ll catch the 8:25 train to Florence (independent departure).
The train journey will be comfortable and exciting as we travel through the picturesque landscapes of central Italy. After one hour and 35 minutes, we will arrive at Santa Maria Novella station, where we will meet our driver for an exciting 3-hour Ape Calessino ride through the city center and the hills surrounding Florence.
The Ape Calessino is a characteristic Italian electric vehicle made by the famous Tuscan company Piaggio. This vehicle is fun and comfortable, making it perfect for exploring Florence without tiring walks.
The heart of Florence and its hills
Our Ape Calessino tour will take us through the heart of Florence, admiring its magnificent historical and artistic treasures, such as the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, with the famous Brunelleschi dome, and the Baptistery with its bronze doors.
After immersing ourselves in the beauty of Florence’s historic center, our tour on the Ape Calessino will continue towards the surrounding hills, with the opportunity to enjoy unforgettable views of the city and panoramic views of its architectural beauties, including the Ponte Vecchio. We can admire the Arno river meandering through historic buildings, creating a unique and suggestive atmosphere.
Once back in the center, we will have free time for lunch and to explore Florence at our leisure. We can go shopping on the elegant streets of the city center, or choose to visit the Accademia Gallery to admire Michelangelo’s famous David, or the Uffizi, one of the most important art galleries in the world.
We recommend walking slowly towards Santa Maria Novella station at 16:30 to take the train back to Rome at 17:30 (the train will not arrive before 17:15).
After an hour and 35 minutes on the train, we will be back in Rome, satisfied with the trip, bringing with us indelible memories of the splendid Florence and its artistic wonders.
